Dr Jonathan Lane grew up in the South West of England before studying Biomedical Sciences at both the University of Plymouth and Montana State University, where he graduated with a BSc with honours.

He then moved to Scotland and completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and graduated with Commendation at the University of Aberdeen

​

Following graduation, Jonathan worked in both NHS and private practice in Orkney, gaining valuable experience across a wide range of clinical settings. He later returned to further study and completed a Master’s in Restorative Dentistry with Distinction at the University of Edinburgh, achieving the highest possible grade.

​

Jonathan provides a full spectrum of care, ranging from routine treatments to complex full-mouth rehabilitations and implant dentistry.

He is committed to delivering dentistry of the highest standard, combining advanced skills with a patient-focused approach.

Jonathan holds several respected professional recognitions, including MFDS RCSEd (Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh). Founded in 1505, the RCSEd is the oldest surgical college in the world and is recognised internationally for setting the highest professional and clinical standards. Achieving MFDS RCSEd reflects Jonathan’s advanced training and commitment to excellence in dentistry.

He has also been awarded AFHEA (Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy) for his contributions to teaching and learning in higher education, and MDTFEd (Member of the Dental Trainers Faculty) for his role in supporting and mentoring future dentists.

 

Most recently, he achieved Associate Fellowship of the College of General Dentistry, a distinction awarded to clinicians who demonstrate exceptional commitment to professional development, patient care, and advancing dentistry through teaching, research, and leadership.

Dental Implant Costs in Plymouth

The price for a single fixed titanium dental implant is £3000-£3500 this includes everything from implant placement , crown placement + guarantee + x rays/tests.

Prices for Removal of the tooth will be extra + if the site where the implant is to be placed is too close to your maxillary sinus a sinus lift may be needed this and bone grafting are charged at an extra cost.
